Pamenar Street housed the wealthiest, the Jews and the Zoroastrians and the most famous politicians until the 1921 Persian coup d'état that lead to establishment of the Pahlavi dynasty. Today with the expansion of the neighboring Bazar, it mostly serves as storage area and houses for addicts. In 2016, Tehran municipality resurfaced the street with sett pavement to resuscitate its historical momentousness in a pedestrianisation and urban development strategy. Pamenar is a 9 square-meter of negotiation with pedestrians, motorists, history, politics and future.
